Here is some of the market gossip. Make of it what you will. First, from Bell Potter. “We all know a correction is out there, we know it’s long overdue – but no ?one seems to get the timing right – or know when. I thought May or June & we got a small -1.7% drop & then that was it. So for now – the next 5 to 6 weeks, with US reporting season now & then Aussie Reporting season in 2 weeks – and through all of August – I’m staying overweight & long. ?

“Markets no longer fear the virus – we now know more about it – yes the Delta variant has thrown a curve call into the mix – but it’s still understood. It sounds like this variant spreads a lot easier, hits younger people, but is less deadly.”

  2. BHP. There is press speculation that BHP is considering getting out of oil and gas......?
  3. Cimic said first half profit was -34% after selling half its mining services unit Theiss. Reiterated positive outlook and previous guidance.
  4. Lend Lease {$11.67; 24; 2.10%} has agreed to sell its services business to Service Stream for $310m. ?
